We’re Joc & Zach Lahr, the faces behind World Travel Lahr’s. We’re just an average, incredibly awkward, mostly normal couple, whose love story began in high school, a hot minute ago (aka 18 years and counting). Although, our couples story began long ago, our traveling adventures did not. Joc spent all of her childhood having never traveled, not even family vacations. Zach traveled domestically with his family throughout childhood. Together, we focused most of our early 20’s pursuing education and careers. We did not spend our college years backpacking or studying abroad, but we did manage a pretty sweet intimate destination wedding and a small trip once a year. The year Joc turned 30 was the year that everything changed. Zach had the sweetest goal- for Joc to turn 30 in Italy. Um, talk about a gift that Joc will never be able to top, amiright? While this goal seemed impossible for us at that time, Zach made it happen. It wasn’t perfect, it was as budget as it could be, and I’m sure we made so many “errors”….but we were happy to be eating Pizza IN ITALY. That was the beginning. The world suddenly seemed so big. We made a decision to make travel a priority. We opted for jobs that gave us a schedule compatible with travel, we slashed our spending, and we committed to traveling somewhere once a month. So, here we are, traveling somewhere new once a month. We are avid adventure lovers, wildlife fanatics, foodies, semi-bougie hikers, and mid-range travelers. We’re here to inspire you, save you some cash, and help you not make the mistakes that we’ve made along the way (like the time Joc flew us into the wrong airport in South Africa…oops). So, welcome.
